  • Overview

    This role leads PBEs efforts in government contracting, which includes our work with the Veterans Administration and various governmental or quasi-governmental group purchasing organizations. In addition, the role manages strategic partnerships including negotiating merger and acquisition terms, representing the interests of PBE once partnerships are established, engaging in due diligence for potential partnerships, and evaluating new partnerships. This position focuses on building partnerships to accelerate our growth and performance through the identification of new opportunities, enhanced thought leadership, and opportunities for change using a combination of quantitative inputs and soft skills.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with VP of Sales to manage relationship with the Veterans Administration and group purchasing organizations, including all work related to bid preparation, submission, negotiation, implementation, and tracking. Work to minimize risk to company associated with these relationships.
    • Manage legal activities and consultants related to government contracting, trademarks, copyrights, due diligence, and intellectual property to maximize their core competencies for PBE’s benefit.
    • Create business plans and financial models with new and existing partners that are realistically aggressive and include an understanding of the costs and benefits.
    • Work with internal and external business teams on strategy development to prioritize strategic gaps and evaluate proof of concepts/commercial/partner options.
    • Structure and negotiate partnership agreements with complex licensing, transactional, or pricing options. Build strategic partnership teams.
    • Develop materials (e.g., presentations, analyses, metrics) to qualitatively and quantitatively support the partnership programs.
    • Build execution roadmaps to monitor and evaluate success and identify necessary course corrections.
    • Act as liaison between partner and all associates including sales by facilitating information exchange.
    • Ensure reporting and communications is frequent and bi-directional. Utilize defined project management tools and communication vehicles.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree Business, Economics, or related field required
    • JD or MBA preferred (equivalent experience also considered)
    • 5-7+ years of work experience
    • Ability to read and negotiate contracts and translate between legalese and lay language.
    • Adept at reading the dynamics of competitive situations, identifying impending events, and recommending potential strategies which deliver value.
    • Excellent communication (written and oral), ability to communicate and excellent listening skills.
    • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to use financial or other data to inform a lay audience.
    • Ability to work independently or in teams, managing and prioritizing multiple mission-critical tasks.
    • Strong PC skills, including experience using MS Project, MS Office, MS Outlook, and CRM tools.
    • Proven experience in identifying, negotiating, structuring, completing, and implementing joint partnership agreements.
