• Senior Manager of Sustainability & Corporate Projects

  • Overview

    The Sustainability/Project Manager will be responsible for driving sustainability and conservation initiatives throughout the company.  The role will both document and track current activities across a variety of sustainability metrics, and also lead new efforts to increase efficiency and improve corporate sustainability. In the second category, the role will lead efforts to expand lean, efficiency-improving project across the organization, which might include projects to 1) launch or retirement products, 2) reduce changeover time, and 3) improve safety, among others. This position will play a key role in the continued growth and success of the company.  Working with teams across the organization, they will help drive Principle Business Enterprises closer to its mission of being a sustainable and high-performance manufacturing company.



    • Develop plans and solutions to meet company sustainability goals, including waste, energy, water and greenhouse gas reductions, among other factors. Research and analyze capital projects that will help the Company achieve sustainability goals.

    • Analyze and assess current operating procedures, materials and methods; anticipate and implement modifications based on sustainability goals. Perform life cycle assessments and cost analyses of proposed modifications.

    • Serve as lead on multiple sustainability projects, which will require vendor identification and management, solicitation of funding from third parties and through grant-writing, and coordination among various internal and external teams.

    • Provide significant coordination of environmental programs between departments and facilities.

    • Represent Principle Business Enterprises sustainability initiatives with both internal and external stakeholders.

    Corporate Project Management

    • Lead multiple lean, efficiency-improving projects across PBE that rely on cross functional representation to achieve change-management, enterprise-management, and knowledge-management objectives.

    • Apply mastery of continuous improvement methodologies to provide input on the development of new operational processes and procedures that will position the company for future growth.

    • Develop performance metrics, reporting, and data visualization to track projects and communicate status with senior leaders.

    • Engage with the product management team to support or lead the launch of new or modified products or the discontinuation of obsolete products.

    • Support other sales, marketing, operational or business development objectives, as appropriate for your skills and as needed by the company.


    • Bachelor’s Degree Business, Economics, Environmental Management or related field

    • Master’s Degree in Business, Public Policy, or Environmental Management Preferred

    • 5 to 7 years of experience in a sustainability role with 3+ years project management experience

    • Excellent communication (written and oral), ability to communicate and excellent listening skills.

    • Exceptional analytical skills and capacity for critical thinking, organizational skills, project planning, working to meet specific timelines and deliverables, and regularly communicate progress against goals. Strong team leadership experience.

    • Mastery of MS Excel skills required; experience with Tableau, Minitab, SQL, MS Project, MS CRM Dynamics, preferred.

    • Extensive knowledge of local, regional and national emerging sustainable business strategies, life cycle assessments (LCA), ROI analysis, environmental supply chain evaluation and other key sustainability tools and techniques.

    • Strong PC skills, including experience using MS Project, MS Office, MS Outlook, and CRM tools.
