Overview

The purpose of this position is to assist the Operator in the production of absorbent products.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret work orders to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
  • Set stops, guides, speeds, pressures, etc. as indicated by the set-up and run procedures.
  • Monitor machine operation to prevent work piece defects or machine malfunctions.
  • Measure work piece dimensions and inspect product to determine accuracy of operation.
  • Perform minor machine maintenance (installing belts, proper lubrication of bearings, drilling & tapping holes, etc.).
  • Conduct complete changeover and line-out for each new run.
  • Assume responsibility for quality and quantity of product manufactured.
  • Help Line Crew members as needed
  • Train other team members in various aspects of the job as needed.
  • Fill in for operator as needed.
  • Read and interpret documents (safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions & procedure manuals).
  • Accurately record production data and machine operating data as needed.
  • Fill out routine reports and communicate effectively.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to properly use power & hand tools
  • Adhere to all company policies and guidelines
  • Must use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for this position as indicated on the Job Assessment for PPE form.
  • Perform any duties that may be assigned to position.

Qualifications

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
  • Good attendance record required

Physical Demands

  •  Must be able to stand for long periods of time; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, and/or crouch.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have close, distance, color, & peripheral vision abilities along with depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
